BalletCollective exclusively performs commissioned, collaborative work that reimagines ballet for 21st century audiences and has collaborated with a roster of more than 50 acclaimed artists, choreographers, composers, musicians, designers, and dancers.The group has been presented by the Joyce Theater, NYU Skirball Center, Guggenheim Works & Process, Guggenheim Bilbao, the Fire Island Dance Festival, and the Savannah Music Festival.
Driven by an open-minded spirit of camaraderie and exploration, they inspire listeners with vibrant programs that encompass their roots in the classical tradition and passion for artistic discovery. Since incorporating in 2007, the orchestra has toured and recorded with renowned soloists including Yo-Yo Ma, Dawn Upshaw, Bela Fleck, and Gil Shaham, with performances in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, Tanglewood, Vienna’s Musikverein, and Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie.
