FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How much does class cost?
Both the Master Class in Technique and Repertory Workshop are free to attend! However, registration via the form below is required to save your space.
How do I know I have a spot in the class?
If you can submit the form on this page, spots are still available! We will also email to confirm again closer to the date. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please email info@balletcollective.com.
Who can attend? Do I need experience dancing ballet?
Adults of all levels of ballet technique from total beginner to many years of training are encouraged to attend. All ages and all body types are welcomed. As long as you have a good attitude and are willing to learn and try, you will fit in here! Finding joy in movement is the only skill you will need.
How many spots are there in class?
The class can accommodate 24 students.
What is the difference between the technique class and the repertory workshop?
The technique class will be a Master Class in ballet movement taught by BalletCollective’s own Rehearsal Director. The repertory workshop will teach students excerpts from select commissioned works by BalletCollective. Attendance at the technique class is required to join the repertory workshop to ensure that participants are sufficiently warmed up. However, participation in the repertory workshop is optional; you are welcome to attend only the technique portion of Class.
Who will be teaching?
Michael Sean Breeden (BalletCollective Rehearsal Director; formerly Miami City Ballet) and Laine Habony (BalletCollective Artistic & Administrative Coordinator; New York City Ballet Corps de Ballet) will lead the Master Class and Repertory Workshop.
What should I wear?
You should wear clothes that are comfortable and allow for ease of movement and bring a water bottle. Clothes that allow the instructor to see form/lines of the body are encouraged. If you have ballet slippers, please wear them. If you do not, no problem; please wear socks instead! If your inner dancer wants to wear sequins or tutus or sweats, please do so: we just want you to be safe and comfortable.
How can I support Willow Dance Center and/or BalletCollective given that the class is free?
Donations to both Willow Dance Center and BalletCollective will be accepted via cash or check on the day of class if you wish to support either organization. You may also make a fully tax-deductible donation to BalletCollective online at any time here. However, this is in no way a requirement; we’re just happy to dance with you! Branded merchandise that supports both organizations will also be available for purchase at the studio.
Is there parking near the studio?
