Millbrook Shows

BalletCollective's annual summer residency in Millbrook has been essential to our artistic process since 2015. Join us at Millbrook School's Holbrook Arts Center (Millbrook, NY) for the annual tradition of previewing our newest ballets-in-progress in advance of their world premiere in New York City in October. Performances will take place Friday, July 25 at 7:00 PM and Saturday, July 26 at 5:00 PM, and all attendees are invited to mingle with BalletCollective’s artists over drinks at the Warner Gallery following each show.

Wethersfield

We invite dance lovers of all ages to the unparalleled experience of taking a movement class taught by professional ballet dancers in the historic Garden at the Wethersfield Estate (Amenia, NY)—for free. A class for adults will be offered on Friday, July 18 at 9:30 AM and a class for children will be offered on Saturday, July 19 at 9:30 AM, with attendees invited to mingle with their instructors over lemonade and cookies afterwards and ask any questions they may have about a life in the arts. Please note, classes are free but registration is required.

Take Our Class

BalletCollective returns to Willow Dance Center (Poughkeepsie, NY) for the second summer on Sunday, July 20 at 10:30 AM, offering a free Master Class in ballet technique followed by a choreography workshop in which attendees will be taught excerpts from BalletCollective’s repertory. Adults of all levels of ballet technique are welcome and encouraged to attend—the joy of movement is the only prerequisite!

Upstate Art

BalletCollective is honored to have been selected as an official participant in Upstate Art Weekend 2025. We will be hosting our signature event, Live Choreography—in which Artistic Director Troy Schumacher makes a short, original ballet to a song suggestion from the audience!—presented by Willow Dance Center at the Cunneen-Hackett Arts Center (Poughkeepsie, NY) on Sunday, July 20 at 2:00 PM. Attend for the rare chance to witness the intimate dialogue that occurs between choreographer and dancer as art is made. All ages are welcome and the presentation will be followed by an audience Q&A with Schumacher and the dancers. Tickets are free but registration is required.
