This is the first event in a new series designed exclusively for professional choreographers—an opportunity to hear directly from leading voices in the dance community, including funders, artistic directors, and presenters, in a candid, no-pitch, no-pressure setting. Facilitated by Troy Schumacher, these are the conversations that rarely happen, in a setting where they can.

At the inaugural Creators in Dance Summit in March 2026, one of the most consistent themes to emerge was a profound need for structured opportunities for choreographers to learn from and engage with the people who shape the conditions of their work—funders, presenters, directors, and institutional leaders—outside of the high-stakes context of pitching, soliciting, commissioning, booking, or funding. Creators in Dance: Insider Conversations was built in direct response to that need.
