Planned Giving at BalletCollective

The Protectors Circle
Leave time for the art you love.

Planned gifts are a way to express a meaningful, enduring kind of generosity. When you include BalletCollective in your estate plans, you help protect the time artists need to take risks, to linger in rehearsal, and to develop repertory that changes how people think about ballet. These gifts sustain the future of BalletCollective, including multi-year development, residencies, the Commission for Developing Choreographers, and gatherings such as the Creators in Dance Summit.

Simple ways to give

Below are the most common, flexible options donors choose. Each can be tailored with your advisors to fit your goals and circumstances.

Bequest in a will or living trust
Leave a specific amount, a percentage of your estate, or the remainder after other bequests. Bequests are flexible and simple to arrange.

Beneficiary designation
Name BalletCollective as a beneficiary of a retirement account, life insurance policy, or payable-on-death bank account. This is a fast, easy way to make a meaningful gift without altering your cash flow during life.

Donor advised fund (DAF)
Make a recommendation from your DAF at any time. DAFs are convenient and tax efficient for donors who prefer a single place to manage charitable grants.

Gifts of appreciated securities
A gift of publicly traded stock or other appreciated assets can often provide tax advantages while allowing a larger charitable impact.

IRA charitable rollover
If you are age 70½ or older, a qualified charitable distribution from your IRA can be a tax-wise way to support BalletCollective.

If you are interested in charitable trusts, gift annuities, real estate gifts, or more complex vehicles, we are happy to discuss those with you and your advisors.

If you would like, we keep sample language on a separate page for counsel. That page includes bequest phrasing and beneficiary templates for plan administrators.

If you tell us you have included BalletCollective in your plans, we would be honored to welcome you to the Protectors Circle. Membership is optional and offered with discretion.

Frequently asked questions

Will a planned gift reduce my taxes?
Planned gifts can have tax and estate planning benefits for some donors. Because each situation is unique, please consult your legal and financial advisors.

Can I change my mind?
Yes. Most planned gifts may be revised if your circumstances change. Irrevocable arrangements are an exception, and your counsel can explain details.

Can I direct my gift to a particular program?
Yes. If you wish to support a specific program, residency, or initiative, we will work with you and your advisors to honor your intention in a way that supports BalletCollective’s long-term health.
